Son nom est Towelroot, une application développée par Geohot du forum XDA. Voici un petit tuto pour rooter votre smartphone en deux temps trois mouvements et sans vous prendre la tête. Lire également : Qu’est ce que le root et pourquoi rooter Android ?  Towelroot exploite en fait une faille présente dans le noyau Linux d’Android qui n’a toujours pas été corrigée. Le root devrait donc fonctionner sans problème sur la plupart des appareils. Cette faille étant exploitable par n’importe quelle application Android, Google pourrait prochainement proposer un correctif, ce qui n’est toujours pas le cas. A noter que Towelroot ne fonctionne pas sur les Sony Xperia Z2, Galaxy S4 Active et Galaxy S2. D’autres appareils pourraient également s’avérer incompatibles, notamment ceux qui ont été récemment mis à jour mais dans le pire des cas, le root ne s’effectuera pas et un message vous avertira dès le départ que votre appareil n’est pas supporté. Comment rooter son smartphone Android avec Towelroot Avertissement : l’opération décrite ci-dessous est sans danger, mais reste officieuse. Par conséquent, ni Phonandroid, ni l’auteur de cet article ne sauraient être tenus responsables des éventuels dommages causés à votre appareil. 1. Assurez vous que votre téléphone autorise les applications de source inconnue. Pour cela, rendez-vous dans « Paramètres > Sécurité > cochez la case « Sources inconnues ». 2. Télécharger Towelroot en vous rendant à l’aide de votre téléphone sur le site towelroot.com 3. Cliquez sur le Y rouge (signe lambda), pour télécharger le fichier APK directement sur votre smartphone.  4. Utilisez une application d’explorateurs de fichiers (celle de votre téléphone ou téléchargez en une sur le Google Play) pour trouver le fichier APK de Towelroot, puis appuyez simplement sur le bouton pour rooter Android. 5. Téléchargez l’application SuperSU qui servira de barrière à certaines applications qui veulent les accès root, mais aussi qui désactivera les applications comme Knox qui pourraient limiter les fonctionnalités liées au root. 6. C’est terminé ! Téléchargez l’application Root Checker pour vous assurer que votre mobile est bien rooté !
